The release of Genshin Impact's version 4.0, titled "As Light Rain Falls Without Reason," was significant as it unveiled Fontaine, the eagerly awaited fifth region in Teyvat. In version 4.1, called "To the Stars Shining in the Depths," we journey towards the north and witness new characters joining in battles along with various other events.

Genshin Impact v4.1 Update: New Upcoming Characters
To provide assistance, Genshin Impact is introducing two new characters from prominent positions in Fontaine. Neuvillette (Hydro) serves as the leader of Fontaine, while Wriothesley (Cryo) acts as the Administrator of the Fortress of Meropide. Both characters are skilled with Catalysts and have the ability to use some of their health to perform specific attacks, which they can later replenish. Players will have an opportunity to acquire both Neuvillette and Wriothesley through event wishes.

A new character is confirmed to be introduced in the upcoming Genshin Impact v4.1 Phase 1:
- Neuvillette
Three fan-favorite banners will return as rerun banners in the version 4.1 update, they are:
- Hu Tao
- Zhongli
- Tartaglia
Some other character banner adjustments will also be made:
- Ferminett (He will not feature as a limited banner anymore in the latest update)
Weapon Banner:
- Tome Of The Eternal Flow (It will come with the arrival of the new character Neuvillette)
- Staff of Homa (It will appear with Hu Tao in the version 4.1 update)
- Phase 2
Character Banner:
- Wriothesley (Another new playable character in the v4.1 update)
- Venti (She will rerun along with Wriothesley)
Weapon Banner:
- Cashflow Supervision (It is set to be released with Wriothesley)
- Elegy of the End (It will arrive when Venti returns)
Genshin Impact v4.1 Update: Map Expansion
It's not just about character and banner updates, players can also continue their Archon Quest journey in two new explorable locations:
- Fortress of Meropide - Liffey Region
An underwater world that is located deep beneath the sea of Fontaine Region.
The new Archon Quest starts at this location, where players have to find Childe. In these fresh ruins, there are various obstacles that adventurers need to overcome. The Millennial Pearl Seahorse is visually appealing but can inflict harmful Electro damage on players. Additionally, a boss fight awaits against the Experimental Field Generator which has the ability to manipulate gravity during battle.
Currently, players have had the opportunity to witness the thriving Court of Fontaine, however, the true depiction of this place lies in its northern region. Here, a completely contrasting viewpoint is presented. Submerged deep within the sea rests the Fortress of Meropide which serves as a prison for individuals who have been banished from various parts of Fontaine.

As the game approaches its third anniversary, players can expect to receive generous rewards. These rewards include 1,600 Primogems and four Fragile Resin in their mailboxes. Additionally, two special gadgets called the Portable Aerodynamic Gelatinous Bubble Generator and Itty Bitty Octobaby will be given out. Furthermore, a login event will provide players with 10 Intertwined Fates.
